World Water Day is celebrated on 22nd March: this year’s theme is particularly meaningful: \u201cWhere water flows, equality grows\u201d.<\/h2>\n

The global water crisis affects everyone, but a closer look reveals that it does not impact all individuals equally.<\/p>\n

In areas of the world where safe drinking water and adequate sanitation services are lacking, it is women and girls who are responsible for meeting daily water needs<\/p>\n

More than one billion women worldwide do not have access to safe drinking water.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The United Nations calls for a transformative approach in which women are fully represented at all levels of water governance: from infrastructure design and policy to service management.<\/p>\n
